Evaluation Meeting for the Scientific and Technological Achievements of the Project “Key Technologies and Applications for Safe Large-Scale Mining and Disaster Early Warning in Strategic Vein-Type Tungsten Deposits” Successfully Held

On November 3, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association convened an evaluation meeting for the scientific and technological achievements of the project titled“Key Technologies and Applications for Safe Large-Scale Mining and Disaster Early Warning in Strategic Vein-Type Tungsten Deposits.”The project was jointly completed by Jiangxi University of Science and Technology(JXUST), Ganzhou Nonferrous Metallurgy Research Institute Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Xialong Tungsten Industry Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Piaotang Tungsten Industry Co., Ltd., and Jiangxi Dajishan Tungsten Industry Co., Ltd.Dong Bingyan, Member of the Standing Committee of the University CPC Committee and Vice President, delivered remarks on behalf of the project team;Nie Huaping, Deputy Director of the University’s Office of Science and Technology, also attended.

Wang Xiaojun, Associate Dean of the Schoolof Safety Engineering, presented a detailed report on behalf of the research team. His presentation covered five aspects: research background, main technical components, core technical indicators and benefits, major innovations, and key research outcomes. The evaluation expert committee—comprising AcademicianYang Chunheof the Chinese Academy of Engineering, ProfessorFeng Guoruiof Shanxi Institute of Energy, ProfessorYin Shenghuaof the University of Science and Technology Beijing, ProfessorLi Diyuanof Central South University, and ProfessorZhang Chaoof Wuhan University of Technology—reviewed the submitted materials. After inquiries and discussion, the committee unanimously concluded that the project has reached an internationally advanced level overall and recommended its accelerated promotion and application.

At the meeting,Peng Pin, Dean of the Schoolof Safety Engineering, expressed gratitude to Academician YangChunheand all participating experts for their support and contributions to the evaluation process.

The project has developed new engineering technologies with independent intellectual property rights, enabling the safe, efficient, and low-loss recovery of strategic mineral resources. It advances scientific and technological progress within the industry and offers broad prospects for application.
