From November 17 to 18, the “2025 Training Workshop on Safety Technology and Management for Non-Coal Mines” was successfully held in Ganzhou. The event was co-hosted by the China Mining Products Safety Approval and Certification Center (CMAC) and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST), and organized by the university’sSchool of Safety Engineering. Representatives from major mining enterprises—including China Rare Earth Group, Jiangxi Copper Corporation, Jiangxi Tungsten Industry Group Col, Ltd., andGuangxi Huaxi Mining—joined the event. Centering on the theme of “Strengthening Safety Technology Innovation and Enhancing Mine Management,” the workshop featured extensive exchanges and in-depth discussions.

The opening ceremony was held on November 17 in Meeting Room 2, 1st Floor, Zhiyuan Conference Center, Sanjiang Campus (East Campus). Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and University PresidentGe Shirong, andWang Lifeng, Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of CMAC, delivered remarks.Ge Shirongemphasized that JXUST would continue to leverage its disciplinary strengths as the“Cradle of Nonferrous Metallurgical Talent” anda leading institution inrare-earth science and education to cultivate more high-caliber professionals for the non-coal mine safety sector. Chairman Wang highlighted, from the perspective of the national safety mark management system for mining products, the crucial role of technological innovation in supporting safe mine production.

Following the opening session, the workshop moved into expert lectures.Ge Shirongdelivered a keynote titled “New Technologies for Enhancing Mine Safety through Intelligent Mining,” providing a systematic analysis of cutting-edge developments such as intelligent extraction and green-mine construction.Wang Zhanqiang,ChiefSupervisor of the China National Coal Machinery Industry Association(CMIA), and invited expertYang Damingoffered thematic lectures on “Current Status and Development Trends of the Coal and Coal-Machinery Industries” and “Safety Mark Management Systems for Mining Products and Their Practice,” covering key topics including equipment safety standards and testing-and-certification procedures.

On the afternoon of the 17th, three thematic exchange sessions were held, focusing on “Application Needs for Technical Equipment and Safety Management of Mine Equipment,” “New Technologies and Equipment for Metal and Non-Metal Mines,” and “Development of Safety Technologies for Mining Products and Safety Management Practices.”Zhu Jiangwen, Safety Director of Jiangxi Copper Corporation, andWu Qiang, General Manager of the Tongkeng Mining Branch of Guangxi HuaxiMining, delivered special reports that sparked lively discussion among participants. The sessions created a dynamic atmosphere of collective problem-solving, experience sharing, and collaborative exploration of technical challenges.

On the morning of the 18th,Wu Zhaohong, Director of the Comprehensive Division ofCMACAudit Center, and expertZhai Shouzhongconducted knowledge-based training on topics such as “Catalogue of Safety Marks forNon-Coal Mining Products and Management of Safety Marks” and “Interpretation of theSafety Regulations for Metal and Non-Metal Mines.” Through case studies of typical accidents, they provided in-depth analysis of key and difficult issues in safety management. The workshop continued with technical presentations on the afternoon of the 18th.

The successful completion of this training workshop provided an effective platform for technical exchange and significantly enhanced the safety expertise and management capacity of professionals in the non-coal mining industry.
