The Administrative Management major of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, newly established in 2008, is a core major of the first-level discipline in Public Administration. It is a modern management major that combines the knowledge of different disciplines such as Politics,Administration,Sociology,Law,Economics,Human Resource Management,Busines sManagement,Management Science and Engineering,Emergency Management, and Urban and Rural Planning,etc.It uses multi-disciplinary and comprehensive knowledge to cultivate composite talents with modern national governance system and governance capabilities.
At present, the major of Administrative Management has 17 faculty members,including 9 full-time teachers. Among them, 5 are professors, 10 are associate professors, and 2 are lecturers. 9 faculty members have master’s degrees, while 8 have doctorate degrees.And 88.2% of faculty members hold the professional title of associate professor or above. It has been featured with reasonable educational backgrounds, knowledge structures, and age structures, with young and middle-aged professionals forming the core force in teaching and scientific research.
It is supported by various resources, including 1 Intelligent Government Affairs Laboratory, 9 Practice Teaching Bases (with signed agreements), and 1 Municipal-level Rural Revitalization Research Center.Moreover, it has established long-term and effective teaching and research cooperation mechanisms with government agencies and administrative departments.It is well-endowed with practical teaching resources, state-of-the-art experimental facilities, and excellent teaching conditions to meet the demands of professional teaching and research.
It was granted permission to award an interdisciplinary master’s degree in Law and Administration in 2016. Subsequently, in 2017, student admissions commenced. During the same year,it participated in the evaluation of the level of runningcolleges and universities in Jiangxi Province, securing a commendable third-place ranking with 79 points, surpassed only by Nanchang University and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.Recognizing its potential,our university provided some support in 2018, designating it as a“Characteristic Major”.In 2021,it was approved to award an MPA degree, with student admissions commencing in 2023. Furthermore, in 2022, it received approval for construction as a provincial first-classundergraduate major,and is currently constructing with ongoing development.It has yielded numerous teaching and research achievements, including 2 projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, 2 provincial second prizes in teaching achievements, 2 provincial high-quality construction courses, and 1 provincial award for outstanding achievement in social science.
